Rolfnt writes Behardware.com has tested the two inkjet printers, compared their results to the previous generation of products, to other manufacturers Samsung, Epson, Sagem, Lexmark and even filmed some of the results. Many things are improved starting with the price, speed, and cost per photo, however, some of the marketing arguments proved to be very bold, even too bold (HP's video of ink resistance to water is pretty impressive).

Wikipedia defines aero this way “Windows Aero is the name for the new graphical user interface and visual style in Windows Vista. Its name is an acronym (or backronym) for Authentic, Energetic, Reflective and Open. Intended to be a cleaner, more powerful, more efficient and more aesthetically pleasing user interface, it also includes new transparencies, animations and eye candy. Since mid-2005, Microsoft has gradually added elements of Aero to released Windows Vista builds. Build 5270 (released in December 2005) contained an implementation of Aero which was virtually complete, according to sources at Microsoft; however, small changes will continue to be made until Windows Vista is released.”

LCDs images delayed compared to CRTs? Yes!
| Posted by editor on Sunday, August 27 @ 21:10:48 EST
Rolfnt writes Some of the readers of Behardware.com have sent e-mails about a possible risk of delay of image displayed on LCD monitors compared to CRTs. The website checked this information and found that they were right! All LCD monitors tested were from a few milliseconds to a couple of images late compared to CRTs. Of course there are consequences: in LAN games, those who have CRT monitors have advantages over other participants. This is also true for movies: sound comes before images and sometime a lot earlier…

Survey: 10 stabilised digital cameras
| Posted by gorilla on Friday, May 19 @ 00:35:08 EST
Rolfnt writes The most important improvement of the year for compact digital cameras is image stabilization. It used to be Panasonic’s trademark but they are no longer the only one. All manufacturers now use image stabilization at least for one of their camera. For example Canon has released the first Ixus / PowerShot with image stabilization, the 800-IS / SD700. Nikon released two cameras, the Coolpix P3 and P4 which are in fact the same camera at the exception of the Wifi compatibility for the second. About surprising performances, there is the 26 mm thick Ricoh that has 7x optical zoom! Or even the 16 mm thick only Casio EX-S600. Panasonic also improved their products. Their latest FX01 has a 28 mm wide angle.
Behardware.com has tested these cameras and the following ones: Fujifilm F11, for the very good noise level management, Konica Minolta X1, the waterproof Olympus (Mju 720 SW) and Pentax (Optio W10) and Sony’s ultra flat DSC-T9.

Choosing Domains with High Resale Value

Anonymous writes By Jay Finnan, Sedo.com Director of Customer Relations
Haven’t you heard? “Domain selling is the new parking.” Over the last few years domain sales have taken a back seat to the predictable revenue of pay-per-click (PPC) advertising programs. But in the shadow of the booming PPC market some domain speculators are making a killing in arbitrage, finding domains at bargain prices and reselling them to make a sizable profit. A recent study* of domains sold twice in the last year showed an average return on investment of more than 300%.

Secure FTP Goes Beyond Traditional FTP
| Posted by editor on Wednesday, January 11 @ 01:16:49 EST
Anonymous writes (New York, USA) - One of the earliest file transfer protocols developed for the Internet - ftp - is still one of the simplest, most convenient and fastest methods of exchanging files between clients and servers. But with the growth of the World Wide Web and broadband networks, there has been increased demand for more secure protocols, meaning that the advantages of ftp are often lost. Now a small but rapidly growing company is determined to make it not only more secure, but more reliable and easier to use.
